Amazing New arrivals from Spalt Guitars!
The arrival of new guitars from Vienna's Michael Spalt is always exciting. Three of his beautiful instruments came to TNAG HQ this week, the first of which is a custom Totem model "Aeroflot".
Take a closer look...
The body and neck (bolt on) are made from sensational Honduran Mahogany.
And as with all totem guitars, the body is capped with a layer of clear resin which contains a selection of strange and beautiful found objects...
including the luggage tags from which the guitar takes its name. Aeroflot is a rock machine! The Fralin pickups do an amazing job of maintaining the detailed, nuanced unplugged sound and turing it into beautiful tone...

As well as this gorgeous Totem, we also received the first two examples of Michael Spalt's new model the "Medusa". This is an offset, stripped back guitar based on around a weight-reduced routed body capped with a spectacular veneer. A bolt-on Maple neck and twin humbuckers finish it off.
Here's "Peacock Blue"
The routed body feels amazingly comfortable and makes the guitar extremely resonant.
Peacock blue gets its name from the veneer that tops off the Mahogany body. Twin Fralin PAF's, selector switch and master volume and tone controls. All you need right?
And a reversed headstock for added snarl...

This is "Grey Wolf". Once again we're looking at bolt-on Mahogany/Maple construction, this time with an IRW board instead of the Bocote seen on Peacock Blue.
The pickups in this case are by Jason Lollar, a mini bucker at the neck and an imperial at the bridge.
