Four New Guitars From Maestro's Traditional Series Arrive

We are very excited here at the London Showroom of The North American Guitar to have received a brand new bunch of Maestros absolutely stellar Traditional Series guitars.

Inspired by instruments of the 1930s 'Golden Era', with this collection of guitars Maestro take on these iconic silhouettes and add their modern spin and signature playability that makes their guitars so consistently brilliant whilst capturing a very inspiring, inherently vintage tonality present in the instruments throughout the range.

All of these guitars are built up out of solid tonewoods and in the case of our recent additions, Indian Rosewood and Khaya Mahogany for the back and sides paired with predominantly Adirondack Spruce for the top with our latest OM featuring a gorgeous Torrefied Adirondack Spruce top.

Let's take a closer look at the guitars that currently reside in our Showroom;

Maestro Traditional Series 00-IR Acoustic Guitar, Indian rosewood & Adirondack Spruce - £1,849

The 00-IR from Maestros Traditional series is an exceedingly charming instrument with a full and balanced tone and a healthy amount of projection and power for a guitar of this size.

In playing, the 00-IR is very dynamic and in part down to the 12th fret neck join, has a lovely soft attack to it that blossoms into harmonically rich and satisfying tones whether you're playing fingerstyle or digging in with a flatpick.

  • Body shape: Traditional 00
  • Solid Adirondack Spruce top
  • Solid Indian Rosewood back and sides
  • Slotted Headstock
  • Quarter Sawn Sitka Spruce bracing
  • Reversed Kerfing
  • Maple binding with Abalone Purflings
  • Khaya Mahogany neck with Carbon Fiber Rods
  • Ebony fingerboard
  • Ebony bridge with Ebony pins
  • Grover tuners
  • Maestro Premium Polycarbonate hardcase

The D-IR is the largest guitar in the Traditional Series lineup, and takes after the square shoulder dreadnoughts of the 'Golden Era' of acoustic guitars.

Tonally, the guitar is defined by it's power and presence, with thunderous lows and heaps of level and projection it really is a dream for the singer/songwriter that likes to belt out their music. But what I found particularly inspiring was the sensitivity and dynamics at the softer end of its range. When played finger style, the guitar has a very open and chiming voice to it, with enough headroom to make accents jump out and no lack in shimmering trebles. Of course, with a plectrum the guitar is a flat-out workhorse!

This gorgeous OM consists of Khaya Mahogany for the back and sides paired with a lovely Torrefied Adirondack Spruce top, which altogether culminates in a very dry, punchy and classic vintage OM tone.

Sonically, the guitar is exceedingly well balanced and has plenty of level at its disposal for the moments when you really want to dig in. The mids are very present and in tandem with the clarity and separation in the highs this instrument really is a tremendous all rounder.

Maestro Traditional Series O-IR Acoustic Guitar, Indian rosewood & Adirondack Spruce - £1,849

The Single O is the smallest bodied acoustic in the Traditional Series but by no means the least impressive. Boasting again a set of Indian rosewood for the back and sides paired with a gorgeous Adirondack Spruce top, this mighty parlour kicks out a lot more level than you'd expect.
