Here's what you missed

Here's what you missed at TNAG this week...

This week featured a healthy mix of innovative, modern guitar builds and vintage-inspired throwbacks.

The common thread? All were hand-crafted by small shop luthiers at the top of their game. Round out these last few days of August with our current favorites!

Fresh in from Matt Nowicki of Red Rocket Guitars, Joel's taking a look at two Tele-inspired Atomic models for this week's Just Arrived. If the classic 1950s car finish colors don't entice you, the tone of these certainly will.

Pick of the Week: Batson Grand Concert

Who says a guitar has to have a front-facing soundhole? Well, maybe a lot of folks do, but TN-based luthier Cory Batson proves that the alternative can sound absolutely stellar, too! Cory is all about maximizing bass projection in his builds, and we can verify that he certainly succeeded on this OM-sized Grand Concert in Sitka spruce and Indian rosewood, making it our Pick of the Week.

Presents: Episode 52. Taran DS5

Rory Dowling celebrated a milestone in his guitar crafting career in the best way possible - by building extra special guitars! This Dowling Signature 5, or DS5, is his Taran model. Smaller in stature than a standard OM, it's intimate and delightful to play fingerstyle. Crafted of exquisite Swiss moon spruce and Macassar ebony, and embellished with local Scottish woods and materials, it's a wonderful representation of Rory's fine work. Check it out here in our 52nd Presents.
