I suppose the title should be "Here's what you missed for the past two weeks", as we neglected to blog about the week before! We've had a ton of special new acoustics come in from one-man shops, as well as some super hip electrics from Huber, Mario Martin, and Bunting. Let's get you up to speed...
Here's what you missed
Here's what you missed at TNAG this week...
Presents: Episode 71. Mario Martin T-Style Gold Flake
Joel has no trouble talking up the excellent workmanship and tone of any of Mario Martin's guitars, but this T-Style in a stellar gold flake finish may just be the favorite. With a resonant swamp ash body, premium maple neck, and Fralin pickups, this is one cool guitar that sounds as good as it looks. Check it out here in our 71st Presents.
Presents: Episode 76. G.R. Bear Grand 00 Koa
Our 76th Presents explores the unique and fingerstyle-friendly design of the Grand 00 from Vancouver-based luthier G.R. Bear. The list of features is long, and the results—incredible sustain, powerful response, and rich fundamentals—are easy to love.
Presents: Episode 72. Bashkin JM Deluxe Cutaway
Coming at guitar building with an unusual background in both forestry and art, Michael Bashkin's guitars are TNAG favorites for their beautiful combination of contemporary and classic tonal characteristics and for their elegant appointments. Nick dives into the JM Deluxe, the first of several Bashkins we have coming our way in the near future, here in our 72nd Presents.
Presents: Episode 74. Bunting Jackal
The solid body Spanish cedar Jackal from Bunting Guitars is a versatile rock guitar, inspired fond memories of 80’s rock. It combines the best of what we love in classic double-cut guitars with S-style contours for comfort and playability. Check it out here with Joel in our 74th Presents!
