Build Thread: Taran Guitars

We're very excited that our next two builds with Rory Dowling have just began at Taran Guitars HQ. These guitars consist of the known and loved Tirga Mhor Model featuring Macassar Ebony for the back & sides and an Adirondack Spruce top. The second of these is Oreval Model. This is the first Oreval  we have bought into TNAG, a larger bodied instrument in the Taran range. This model will feature Claro Walnut for the back & Sides and Tunnel 14 Redwood for the top.
Both of these models are within the DS (Dowling Signature) Series, the Tirga Mhor being DS10 and the Oreval DS11. The DS Series are speculative instruments made by Rory in which he implements developments, ideas and personal preferences into the guitars. Bringing speculative instruments into the showroom allows luthiers to try-out and create exactly what they want within an instrument- without specific bespoke requests. As we all know, Rory really is a master of his craft and we're really excited to be receiving instruments which encapsulate his preferences, knowledge and unique appointments, they're in very safe hands.
Below you can see the build process begin, aswell as full specs and an insight into Rory's process.
