Just Arrived: Episode 11. Kostal 00, OMC and Jumbo

On Episode 11 of Just Arrived, Lindsay shows us the three beautiful new guitars from Arizona-based luthier Jason Kostal. After an apprenticeship with Ervin Somogyi, Jason has gone on to become one of the most sought-after guitar makers in his own right, and is well-loved for his precise craftsmanship and aesthetic touches.

Kostal 00, Koa and German Spruce - $22,800

Kostal OMC, Koa and German Spruce

Kostal Jumbo, Quilted Maple and German Spruce

We've been looking forward to getting a master grade koa guitar from Jason for some time, so to have two at once, in two unique body shapes that provide their own advantages, is a rare treat. Best of all, though, is the Jumbo with its master-grade quilted maple, which is a recreation of a guitar that Jason has on display at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix.

Check out these demos of the Jumbo played by both Carl Miner and Lance Allen side by side to hear this special instrument in the hands of two distinct master players:
