Just Arrived: New Maybach Guitars

We've been long standing fans of Maybach Guitars here are The North American Guitar, so when three new instruments arrived at our UK Showroom we knew that we had every reason to be excited before opening up the boxes and seeing what they had in store for us.

To further our excitement two of the models were entirely new to us in the Lester Jr Double Cut Special and Keith iteration of their wonderful Teleman model, alongside another superb example of their S-61 Stradovari, this time in a charming Caddy Blue Aged finish.

All three guitars were an absolute joy to play, with distinctive personalities and a consistently inspiring tones and feel. Of the three guitars, the Jr was certainly the most lively of the bunch, with the Amber P90 pickups pushing the amp into it's saturated sweet spot and encouraging the player to really dig in. The subtlety of the S-61 made it a dynamically satisfying and crisp affair with chiming cleans and throaty drive tones and the Keith had a huge range on tap with the combination of a single coil and humbucking pickup that saw spanky cleans through to raunchy overdrive!

Maybach Stradovari S-61 Electric Guitar, Caddy Blue Aged - £1,699

This fantastic Maybach Stradovari S61 in Aged Caddy Blue is a wonderfully excecuted rendition of one of the most successful electric guitars in history.
Conceived in Germany and hand built by a small team in Europe, Maybach Guitars are fast gathering notoriety for their superb quality and competitive pricing, along with killer tones and superb playability.
This particular instrument finds the core of it's sonic identity in a Swamp Ash body paired with the classic combination of a Maple neck and Rosewood fretboard, furthered by the magnificent set of Amber '61 Special pickups that give this guitar an instantly recognisable and classic voice.
The playability of this instrument is sublime, with great access and clear notes all across the board.
The guitar, akin to most good S-Types, is exceptionally versatile and has no problems holding its own in a mix, from bell-like clarity and chimey cleans through to fat lead tones it'll take whatever you throw at it and give back in abundance.
The guitar comes with a Maybach Deluxe Hardcase.

Maybach T-52 Teleman Electric Guitar, Keith Aged - £1,550

This wonderful Maybach Teleman T52 makes an extra special homage to iconic British rock guitarist, Keith Richards, with a few tasteful alterations to the standard Teleman spec.
Akin to the very earliest iteration of the 'T' style guitar, this instrument finds its tonal foundations in a Sugar Pine body, making it both comfortable in weight and suitably resonant.
The neck has a slightly larger 50s profile that is incredibly comfortable in the hand, and with the 7.25" radius certainly feels the part for the vintage feeling Maybach aim to capture.
The guitar features a set of Amber pickups, inspired of course by rock'n'roll legend Keith Richards and his beloved T-Style sporting a PAF in the neck position and classic flat-pole single coil in the bridge.
The instrument is finished in Nitrocellulose Lacquer and tastefully aged to top off the vintage aesthetic, with cracking and subtle wear giving the guitar a warm 'played in' feeling right out of the case.
The guitar comes with a Maybach Luxury Hardcase.

  • Neck: Maple
  • Mechanics: Gotoh SDS-510
