New Bourgeois Arrivals - LDBO and DBJC!
This week heralded the arrival of some wonderful instruments from our friends at Bourgeois Guitars in Lewiston Maine USA. First of all, let's have a look at this one-of-a-kind presentation grade LDBO in Ziricote and Aged Tone Adirondack Spruce!
Lovers of exceptionally rare vintage guitars will recognise the aesthetic nods to Gibson's venerable "Century of Progress" instruments (1933-41), in particular the sensational fretboard inlay and the deep, rich sunburst finish on the soundboard.
Bourgeois have made 10 of these presentation grade guitars but this is the only one in the world with back and sides of spectacular Meso-American ziricote!
This is an exceptional L00 style instrument which excels at fingerstyle blues and americana. You can check it out in action below!
Next up is a beautiful instrument from Bourgeois Guitars' back catalogue. Yes, the DBJC is back!
We were delighted when Dana Bourgeois agreed to have a look for the moulds for this previously discontinued model. We were even more delighted when he found them!
The original Bourgeois DBJC had a strong underground following who loved its nuanced, expressive voice and immediate response. This upgraded version with the DB signature appointments is a beautiful fingerstyle guitar.
Perfectly straight-grain Indian Rosewood and Redwood go together to make a wonderful combination. Lovers of the work of James Olson and Kevin Ryan will find the response and timbre immediately familiar.
Letting the wood do the talking... snakewood buttons on gold Waverlys
And a Ziricote veneer on the snakehead headstock. Extremely pleasing...

These instruments are both available to view in our new central London showroom! For more information or to book an appointment please do get in touch hello@thenorthamericanguitar.com
