New James Trussart Guitars Just Arrived!
Since the 1980s, James Trussart has been one of the most innovative and distinctive luthiers in the world of the Electric Guitar, using and engraving Steel to make the bodies of his guitars, winding his own pickups and capturing and feeling a sound entirely of his own.
Playing a Trussart guitar is a singular experience, with the Hollow Steel body resonating and moving in a way no traditional electric guitar can emulate and translating those qualities into a remarkably musical and inspiring amplified sound. There's no wonder they've found their way into the hands of some of the biggest names in the music industry, from Bob Dylan to Billy Gibbons and countless others between.
The arrival of new guitars from James is always an exciting venture, and the three that came through our doors this week were exactly that. With two SteelCasters, one of which a Deluxe, and our first ever Steel O'Matic it was clear from the start that many hours would be lost in the showroom exploring all the vast range of tones and voices available from these remarkable instruments.

James Trussart Steel O'Matic Electric Guitar, Antique Silver Paisley - £4,650
Designed in collaboration with Richard Fortus of Guns'n'Roses and hand built by the team at James Trussart's workshop, this remarkable S-Type guitar features elements of James' signature and innovative techniques in tandem with a host of well considered tweaks that make for a formidable and versatile instrument.
Built in Sugar Pine for the body with a Steel top and bolted on Maple neck, the Steel O'Matic brings a hit of the iconic Trussart sound to the world of the S-Type. The reverse headstock offers piano-like string tension with a longer run on the bass end and vice versa with the treble strings, giving you a balanced and responsive feel under the left hand.
The pickups are a set of Hand Wound Arcane single coils that deliver notably vintage tones, but with the bridge pickup reversed and wired in to the tone control, there's a whole range of inspiring tones in an area S-Types can often fall short in.
