Pick Of The Week: A Beautiful Beauregard Concert Arrives

We're incredibly excited to have received a new Beauregard Concert Model in Maple and Lutz Spruce. Mario Beauregard's instruments are in such high demand, that a new arrival (which hasn't pre-sold) is a real treat and a deserving choice as our Pick Of The Week.
Like a few of the acoustic luthiers on our roster, Mario Beauregard also comes from Ervin Somogyi roots, which is always a great indication of accuracy and skill. Beauregard's luthier journey started in the 1990s, when a grant from The Art Council of Quebec enabled him to attend the Roberto-Venn School of Lutherie where he met Ervin Somogyi in one of his masterclasses. He was then invited to study with Ervin, which represented a turning point in his career.
During weekdays Mario would work and study with Ervin Somogyi and during the weekends he would drive up to Taku Sakashta’s workshop to learn about building archtops. He also went on to work as the designer in the R&D department of Lasido (Godin) for a period of years. Now, Mario is a one-man operation in the small town of St-Denis-sur-Richelieu near Montreal, Quebec while continuing to act as a consultant in the industry.
Beauregard's skills have been fine tuned for years, resulting in impeccable tonal, aesthetic and ergonomic instruments.
Back in 2019 Mario hand-delivered our first new Beauregard build, an OM cutaway in the most stunning set of ‘The Tree’ Mahogany and a gorgeous Bearclaw Sitka Spruce top. While Mario was here, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to sit down with him for a Talking Guitar episode with TNAG’s Ben Montague. It's a great place to get to know Mario Beauregard and his instruments in greater depth:
This guitar has unparalleled craftsmanship, aesthetic design, and tonality. The Lutz Spruce top and European Maple back and sides not only add to this guitar's stunning appearance, but they also conjure tones that are present, resonant, and shimmering with clarity. As you can imagine, the maple influences sweet, bright tones, with a real shimmer in the trebles, whilst remaining balanced across the fretboard.
The unmistakable extended fretboard not only adds to this Concert model’s sleek modern construction, but it also grants access to previously unimaginable notes in the upper register. The Beauregard Concert is a pristine modern instrument with a voice, look, and build quality, making this guitar a timeless show stopper.
