Sensational New Collings Guitars Available at TNAG Nashville!

TNAG Nashville is a consistent source of inspiration and positivity here across the pond in our UK Showroom, not least down to the wonderful team and everything they bring to our transatlantic union, but this week we have one very specific reason to be looking overseas with envious eyes. That reason of course, is the sensational collection of newly arrived Collings Guitars.

Now it's highly unlikely a guitar player in Nashville wouldn't be familiar with Collings at this point, and these days the same can be said all over the world as these fine instruments have found their ways into the hands of a truly diverse range of artists, from pop icons through to subtle sidemen and women working their magic behind the scenes.

The stellar reputation of the late Bill Collings and his team out in Austin, Texas is clearly well deserved, and in this fresh set of instruments we are presented with a fantastic cross-section of the the range of traditional and nuanced styles they have perfected, including offerings from their superb Waterloo range.

The Collings C-100 is shaped similarly to the C-10 but bigger and a bit bolder. The guitar is the perfect combination of a parlor guitar, and a large-body instrument, offering both responsiveness and power. The C-100 was originally developed by the late Bill Collings, and around 20 were built in the 1990s, making them extremely rare. Collings announced they would be reissuing the guitar at NAMM 2018.

This guitar is seriously impressive. The body size gives the C-100 a wholly unique tone, with resonance, volume, and clarity not easily found elsewhere. When strummed with a pick, the guitar has beautiful note-separation, making each chord wonderfully rich, without the overpowering bass sometimes found in a dreadnought. When played fingerstyle, the instrument has Collings’ signature clarity in the high end. This combination makes this one of the most versatile guitars made by the Austin company and achieves the tonal balance originally dreamed up by Bill decades ago. If you’re tired of the same old body styles, look no further

This guitar features a gorgeous Sunburst finish and has been expertly demonstrated by Carl Miner in our video on this page.

TNAG Nashville's Kim Sherman on this C-100: "I like to think of this guitar as a larger C-10 because the shapes are similar, but with non-scalloped X-bracing. Crisp and full tone. Love it."
