Talking Guitar - 1961 Fender Stratocaster and 2016 Scott Walker Electro Video

We have received several requests to compare luthier built electric guitars with their vintage equivalents and in the first of these videos we have a stunning 1961 Fender Stratocaster in Shoreline Gold

and a 2016  Scott Walker Electro in Sonic Blue.

Two Californian electric guitars with bolt on necks and double-cut sculpted bodies built 55 years apart.

This was going to be fun! I played each guitar clean in all five pickup positions (yes the '61 Strat has had a 5-way fitted) in a variety of styles and then see what happens with judicious application of gain.
