Talking Guitar - TLL Guitars "Basically the Future was Cooler in the Past"

We first met Tobias Lindberg of TLL Guitars at The Holy Grail Guitar Show (Berlin) in 2015. We were immediately very impressed by his beautiful designs and the fantastic tone of his electric solid bodies and archtops. Tobias accomplishes that rare thing of being able to merge both vintage and modern designs effectively in both the aesthetic and sonic spectrums.

His guitars are extremely lively and responsive, and due in no small part to his use of carefully selected, sustainable materials such as African Khaya, they are also very light weight and comfortable to play!

Khaya bodies for two TLL Marvin Models

We caught up with Tobias for this Talking Guitar interview where he discusses his influences from Scandinavian art and architecture to the New York Art Deco school, via 1960's sci-fi robots and everything in-between! Check it out below!

We currently have four wonderful TLL guitars in stock. The first is this amazing Marvin Goldtop - all the power and richness of a truly great Les Paul with unsurpassed comfort and light weight!

A pair of Lundgren P90's takes care of the tonal duties with a three-way selector switch, master volume and master tone knobs. Both neck and body are made from Khaya.

The elegant TLL headstock is capped in Rosewood and bound in ivoroid, as is the fretboard itself.

This Sonic Blue Marvin was specc'd out as a retro beast with elements of the more esoteric European brands from the 1960's such as Wandre and Egmont.

It features a Khaya body, Maple neck and Ebony fretboard. the pickups are a pair of McNelly strat-sized gold foil humbuckers!

The headstock and fretboard are Ebony in this case and the guitar features nickel Waverly tuners.

This beautiful hollow-body is the TLL Clarice model. This extremely light-weight and resonant instrument excels at blues and jazz tones.

The Blue-burst finish on the top is just gorgeous... Check out the Ebony bridge and tailpiece too, all hand carved! The pickups are a pair of Lundgren PAF's.

The distinctive TLL headstock gets a further Art Deco twist with this beautiful guitar!

This beautiful Jazz Archtop is The Exam model which in this case features a Guild Dearmond Rhythm King floating pickup!

As with all TLL instruments, this is a light weight and super-responsive guitar that is a joy to play. Acoustically it can be sweet and mellow one moment and bark and growl the next. Plugged in it is jazz heaven.

This 3-a-side headstock design shows Tobias' love of Art Deco and Art Nouveau while the ultra smooth Gotoh 510 tuners bring it right up to date.
