The Deimel Firestar: "A new classic tool for creative and modern guitar music!"
Once billed by Premier Guitar magazine as the guitar that “looks and feels like it was built from blueprints sent aloft in a Gemini capsule and lost to orbital exile since 1966”, it’s fair to say that the Deimel Guitarworks Firestar design is a modern instruments with a real vintage, 1960s influence.
The Firestar is an off-set waist-designed electric guitar featuring a variety of pickup options, from Deimel’s own pickups to the likes of TV Jones, Lollar and Novak JM-style choices. All available with or without a piezo too!

Deimel Firestar Custom, Saturn Lavender - £3,650
This incredible Saturn Lavender finished Firestar also boasts JM-90 and JM-V pickups, as well as a little secret weapon - the Deimel Pickup LesLee! This remarkable feature rotates the signal from each pickup like a LesLee effect, with a control to change the speed and intensity of the effect, providing a huge amount of tonal possibilities.

These things look great, Saturn Lavender looks like a colour I want to eat and with a matching headstock, this guitar look the part in any situation.
On the playing side, I was taken aback by its accessibility, the JM90 and JM-V pickups sound stunning with a beautiful modern vintage sound to them. They handle clean bell-like tones with a glockenspiel-like chime but on the flip side they can handle filth with authority and command. The Vibratone tremolo was a real revelation, with a liquidity smooth action, you can go from surf mode and chord lushness to rock 'n' roll diving.
However, The game changer for me is the built-in Pickup LesLee which sends the guitar into oscillating awesomeness at the flick of a switch, which is of course conveniently placed. From clean surf to raunchy rocking and old school psychedelics, this guitar has it all!
