The Froggy Bottom F14 Model - Just Arrived!
The Froggy Bottom F14 is one of our favourite models from Vermont's finest, as such it was with a great amount of excitement that we opened the case to reveal this gorgeous F14 Deluxe in Mahogany and Adirondack Spruce!
So what is the F14? A big OM? A jumbo? Well, the back story is an interesting one! Back in the 1930's Martin released a series of archtop guitars which were not particularly successful (although they did influence legendary UK luthier Stefan Sobell to make his first guitar so it's not all bad news!) but as was discovered in the 1960's, if the arch top is replaced with an x-braced steel string soundboard you have a seriously powerful guitar!
Beautiful Honduran Mahogany lends this wonderful instrument an articulate, fundamental tone with a growling bass. The Adirondack Spruce sound board gives you all the headroom you could ever need. Fingerstyle or flat-picking, this guitar performs exceptionally.
The elegant lines of the Froggy Bottom headstock with a Rosewood veneer and abalone logo. Nickel plated Waverly machine heads take care of the tuning.
