The Return of the Rick Turner Model T
It’s been a long time since we took delivery of a batch of Rick Turner Model T electric guitars, but we’ve just received three incredible Model Ts from Rick, and boy were they worth the wait!
In designing the Model T, Rick took influence from the late 1920s Kay Kraft designs, combining 1930s-era electronics and 1950s design sensibilities to create a modern guitar with a retro vibe.
The Model T design features a solid Mahogany body with Formica top and back. The bolt-on Maple neck is topped by a Rosewood fingerboard, and the body design allows for uninterrupted access to the upper frets, making it ideal for lead playing and slide.
The focal point is Rick’s own Horseshoe pickup, which provides gorgeous, shimmering cleans and can handle oodles of gain too, perfect for blues and rock. The secret weapon is an ‘all-controls bypass’ switch that sends the pickup’s signal directly to the output jack.
