World Exclusive First Kostal Sunburst Guitar Arrives!
You may remember we announced late last year that the world's first (and at the time of writing only) sunburst Kostal guitar was on its way to TNAG HQ in London. We're delighted to announce that that guitar arrived safely and that it is absolutely stunning!
This OMc features Jason Kostal's personal favourite soundboard material, German spruce. The sunburst was beautifully applied by Addam Stark in Santa Cruz California and it has an amazing depth and richness to it.
The back and sides of this guitar come from the "Mahogany Mama" a highly figured log that was harvested from a huge tree blown over by Hurricane Arthur on May 31st 2008. The fiddleback stripes and rich colours are a sign of excellent wood.
Jason used more muted tones in the stained glass rosette of this guitar, the Burgundys and slate greys look wonderful against the deep burst.
This OMc also features Linda Manzer's wedge design giving the played the added comfort of a tapered body. The cutaway allows full access to the end of the fretboard.
Tuning is taken care of with a set of Gotoh 510 machine heads with Ebony buttons. You can also see the two-tone headstock and scalloped but in this picture.
This is a superb OMc and a unique and beautiful example of Jason Kostal's work. Watch it in action below!
