This extraordinary instrument is a near-perfect and exact recreation of Eric Clapton's iconic Fender Stratocaster 'Blackie', masterbuilt by Yuriy Shishkov at the Fender Custom Shop in 2006 as part of the beautifully documented 'Tribute' series.
The heirloom quality and unparalleled attention to each and every detail of the instrument has made it a hugely collectable piece, and for the avid Clapton fan, a true Holy Grail.
The original 'Blackie' was of course, built from the best parts of three original 1950s Stratocasters to be Eric's perfect Strat, and like the original, this rendition could well be that. With an extremely comfortable Maple neck and Alder body, the guitar is lively and spanky even unplugged, with exquisite playability across the board.
The pickups are a custom wound, staggered-pole set made to the exact spec of the originals and the tone is spot on. With a bell like chime to the neck pickup, sizzle and bite in the bridge and a huge range from the positions in-between, this is first and foremost, an incredible sounding Strat!
In the meticulous replication of the guitar's 'Duck Bros' flight case, Fender have including a real wealth of collectables and extras specific to the instrument, including a 'Making Of Blackie' DVD and a book detailing the Christies Auction in which 'Blackie' was sold to raise funds for the Crossroads Centre.
This rare and sought-after instrument comes with all the un-opened case candy, ready to go in absolutely sensational condition.
