Julian graduated from the Galloup school of lutherie then worked for Sadowsky Guitars for nearly eight years before beginning his apprenticeship at the Somogyi workshop. As you'd expect of a luthier with his pedigree, Julian's work is beautifully executed with a super-fast response and a full, rich tone.

"Producing the best musical instruments I can imagine has been my life's work. Although the guitar itself is of fairly simple construction there is an endless avenue of refinement and consideration for those of us engaged in this practice to happily trot down."

“I am fascinated by this pursuit; I live and breathe it and find a deep satisfaction in pushing the instruments and my own boundaries.”

The North American Guitar is a phenomenal resource for players, they have a wealth of knowledge about the instrument and the inner-workings of a true bespoke build process... not to mention a fabulous selection of instruments. I consider it an honor to be represented amongst some of the best builders in the world by TNAG

The Orchestra Model is a versatile medium sized guitar with wonderful lines and curves and a rich voice. The OM is perfectly suited for finger style playing but is equally at home in all musical genres. Gaffney’s OM model is patterned off of a 1930’s Martin OM which came into Roger Sadowsky’s shop whilst he was working there. This design is smaller than the Somogyi OM, with a tighter waist and balanced tone.

MD

This is a big body guitar, yet with a shifted waist to make it more comfortable. This is the largest guitar which Julian offers and is patterened from the model of the same name by Ervin Somogyi. The modified dreadnought was conceived as a more ergonomic dreadnought with a shifted waist and a wider fingerboard. In addition to this added comfort it is engineered to be loud and present with a commanding bass response and thick, full trebles.
