Combining the rigorous training of the European woodworking tradition with guitar craft learned at the National Luthiery School in Quebec, Julien Sublet builds guitars that combine rich tone with elegant aesthetics.
The Swiss-born luthier went from studying literature to becoming a certified cabinet maker in France before venturing across the Atlantic to Quebec City to pursue his dreams of crafting beautiful guitars. Always learning, Julien utilizes familiar body designs and takes them in new directions, adding bold yet tasteful appointments sure to please anyone with an artistic eye.

“Today, I want to use my knowledge and skills to give musicians the ability to discover their potential and the possibilities of their instrument. Throughout this journey, I want to keep on learning and marveling at the boundless possibilities of the guitar.”
After a lifetime of obsession with guitars, and following receiving his certification in cabinet making, Julien decided to follow his passion. He enrolled in the National Luthiery school located in Quebec City. There was much for him to discover in Canada while studying at one of the most state-of-the-art facilities for guitar making in North America. During the 3 year program, he learned how to fabricate and build guitars that allowed him to turn fantasies into realities while using the rules of acoustic building. Julien has taken many courses that have enabled him to develop his own design and aesthetic lines.
