Luthier
Peggy White
Location
Fogo Island, Canada

Peggy's lutherie journey began at Larivee Guitars in 1998, following this her official training began with Sergei de Jonge, following education from master luthiers Linda Manzer and Michel Pellerin.

Throughout this training Peggy honed her skills and craft to shape her current contemporary sounds. With a precise, methodical and careful approach to her craft she is creating expectionally beautiful instruments, specialised to their player. So tonally, what can you expect from a Peggy White Guitar? Piano-like, rich bottom ends, clear tops and mids and an even, clear tone across and up the fretboard.

“I love walking into my shop each morning, greeted by the smell and sight of the wood and instruments in their various stages of being made. It’s where I feel grounded, happy and alive!”

Peggy grew up in a musical family and has been a musician for most of her life, as a singer/songwriter whose main instrument has been the acoustic guitar, Peggy appreciates and understands first-hand the importance of each instrument and how it should feel as an extension of the player. As an ear-trained musician, her acute ear for music is an asset to her building and helps her to best select and optimize each piece of wood she works with.
