Details
Atkin Guitars are making some of the best pre war-inspired acoustics around out of their Canterbury, England workshop. Their Essential series guitars are just like they sound - classic mahogany plus baked Sitka spruce, no frills appointments, and pure, traditional guitar tone. Their lightweight 000 is sweet, woody and well-balanced, with an easy-playing 24-7/8" scale, 1-3/4" nut, and a rounded C profile neck. Cosmetically, this guitar is on the better end of the "player grade" spectrum. The aged tone finish has evenly distributed crazing, and a couple of finish dings can be found on both the front and back. But otherwise, this guitar is ready for a second life, with frets that show almost no sign of wear, excellent playability and intonation.
