The Bagnasco & Casati Model 910 is a faithful and meticulous re-creation of the Gibson Banner Southern Jumbos that are beloved by the masses. Based in Savona, Italy, the master luthiers of Bagnasco & Casati pride themselves in following the “golden-era” build techniques of yesteryear as closely as possible. The Alpine Spruce top and bracing are handpicked and bought from trusted loggers, as well as moon logged and air-dried. The tree is picked based on correct growing altitude, proper orientation, and particular growing conditions, as well as cut, split, and dried according to old-time logging traditions, which follow the moon phases. Bagnasco & Casati firmly believe that following these traditions give their builds that final bit of magic that brings them as close to a pre-war and war-era guitar as possible. They even go as far as only bracing their tops in the winter, when they are able to have better control over the humidity in their workshop. This creates stability within each guitar, which consequently allows them to maintain a better top arch.

The back and sides were cut from master grade Madagascar Rosewood that had been cut and stored for decades. This combination of tonewoods, and logging and building techniques makes for a masterfully built guitar that has the massive, boomy, full-bodied, dry tone that vintage SJs are known for. Played gently, chords bloom with beautiful note separation. When digging in, the guitar barks with a strong midrange and sustains with a rumbling, authoritative low end. These tonal characteristics, paired with its hot hide glue construction, non-adjustable Maple V truss rod, dovetail neck joint, 4-ply celluloid appointments, and nitrocellulose lacquer make this Bagnasco & Casati Model 910 one of the most precisely built and accurate sounding SJ replicas on the boutique market.
