Building from his workshop way up in Montana near the Canadian border, Mark Blanchard crafts a beautiful array of acoustics and archtops, with nature-inspired names like the Juniper, Bristlecone, and this one here, the Tamarack. This mid-sized guitar clocks in a little wider and deeper than a standard OM for some added dynamic range and bass with no loss of comfort and balance. Adding to that comfort is a Manzer wedge shaped body. He chose European spruce and Panama rosewood for the tonewoods on this 2008 model, giving this guitar a bright, clear voice with strong mids and highs and a controlled bass.
The current set-up of this guitar is excellent for fingerstyle, with easy playability. Condition is very good; there are no notable dings or scratches, but lots of light swirls in the finish to indicate prior handling.
