Rudolph Blazer and Wilhelm Henkes began building together in the 1990s, and this bold sunburst Memphis model is one of the earliest the duo built together (though only under Blazer's name, as you'll see on the headstock). This 17" super jumbo gives a clear tip of the hat to the Gibson model that inspired it, but sports a unique, richly colored sunburst that sets it apart. The bright clarity of maple is warmed up by Alpine spruce and hide glue construction, for a resulting tone that's just as big as you'd expect from an SJ, but with nuance and woodiness all its own. It's no wonder that the German duo's guitars are so highly sought after by fans of traditional and vintage American guitars. The condition of this 1994 Memphis is very good, with only minor signs of prior ownership like a few light dings and scratches in the finish, and it plays with incredible ease.
