Details
An award-winning graduate of the National Lutherie School of Quebec City, French-born Loic Bortot crafts fine guitars that straddle the modern and traditional worlds perfectly. His MJ.C, or mini-jumbo with Florentine cutaway, is just slightly larger than an OM, with distinctive curves and a squared arm bevel. The timeless combination of spruce and mahogany is elevated here, with the mahogany having an incredible quilted figuring and a simple decorative backstrip, and the spruce being a stark, pristine set of Adirondack. It is just an excellent guitar, with a clean, clear and balanced voice and flawless playability up and down the neck. An incomplete wood rosette and Loic's unique headstock design add a distinctive flair.
