Bourgeois SD "Banjo Killer", Figured Mahogany & Bearclaw Sitka Spruce - Pre-Owned

"The name Banjo Killer was coined by Bryan Sutton for his six-stringed onstage sidekick, back in the day when he burst onto the bluegrass scene in the late 1990s. Featuring a double scalloped X brace design, stiffer back bracing and a 25.5” scale, the Banjo Killer’s bark is as terrifying as its bite."

Fans of the slope-shouldered dreadnought who want the power of a standard scale design should take note of this special SD model from Bourgeois, nicknamed the "Banjo Killer" for its ability to sonically go toe-to-toe with the punchiest, twangiest instrument in any bluegrass outfit. Wider and deeper than a standard dread, the SD has just that much more space to push air. The D-18 combo of Sitka spruce and mahogany is upgraded by the use of bearclawed and figured woods, dressed up with just the right amount of vintage-inspired appointments. A better guitar for covering a wide range of flatpicking and strumming styles could hardly be imagined, and this pre-owned 2021 model is in excellent condition.
