Bown L-00, Figured Koa & Torrefied Sitka Spruce - Pre-Owned

It’s rare for a Ralph Bown guitar to grace our website, but even more so when it’s one of Ralph’s more recent builds, and this 2021 L-00 custom is a prime example of why he is one of the most revered acoustic luthiers on the planet.

This L-00 sports a stunning set of highly figured koa for the back and sides with a torrefied Sitka spruce top, giving the guitar a warmth and resonance that you’d find on an older guitar with years of play under its belt.

A 14-fret-to-body Honduras mahogany neck has a Brazilian rosewood fretboard, and has been cut with a soft 'V' profile. The Brazilian rosewood theme continues with the bridge.

There are also some really wonderful decorative appointments to the guitar, from the black and white pear purfling and koa buttons on the Waverly open back nickel tuners, to the Sabah ebony binding, heel cap and headstock veneer.

The guitar is in as-new condition and comes with a vintage early 1980s Keith Calton hard shell case in a dark brown color with golden brown lining.
