Details
"Played acoustically, my OM model is very articulate and balanced in voice; it allows you to drive hard when you need to, and still keep all the mellow tones when played normally. The hallmark of my OM’s sonority is its natural, rich tone bolstered by robust basses that share a pleasing timbre with volume and sustain. This model is the most versatile guitar size, perfect for performing at home or recording in the studio."
This gorgeous "The Tree" OM cutaway from Leonardo Buendia came and went before we even had a chance to enjoy it! Since the beginning of Leo Buendia’s journey in Buenos Aires, Argentina he has cherished a deep rooted belief in musicality and craftsmanship, and this masterfully built Jumbo Cutaway model exemplifies that passion. After years of honing his craft in Argentina, Buendia set off to Oakland, CA to apprentice under the renowned Ervin Somogyi for 40 months to specialize in the construction of high-end steel string acoustic guitars. While Leo Buendia’s teacher’s influences shine through in each of his instruments, he repeatedly builds totally unique one-of-a-kind custom guitars with the depth of sound, and immediate response that is sought after by professional musicians and guitar players around the world.
His OM cutaway design is as versatile and playable as you'd expect from a luthier like Buendia, and he elevated this classic design with some incredible tonewoods. A one-piece back of "The Tree" mahogany provides the perfect mix of warmth, balance, nuance and character, while master-grade Adirondack spruce is clear and powerful as a bell. A 1-13/16" nut width accommodates intricate fingerstyle playing, and a complex rosette is the perfect accent to an already exquisite instrument.
