Details

A former luthier at Froggy Bottom Guitars, ex-repairman at Retrofret of NYC, and founder of Circle Strings and Iris Guitars, Adam Buchwald knows his way around boutique, custom, and vintage guitars. This Circle Strings Parlor guitar is a prime example of the high quality craftsmanship one can expect when purchasing a Circle Strings instrument. Constructed with an Adirondack Spruce top, and Cocobolo back and sides, this parlor has a quick attack, tight punch in its mid range, as well as a shimmering top end. This complements the natural mid range that is associated with parlor style guitars. These tonal characteristics, paired with its C shaped Mahogany neck, Ebony fretboard and bridge, and 24 7/8” scale length, create a parlor style guitar that is comfortable for everything from fingerstlye playing to flatpicking, and even holds up well to strong strumming.

Circle Strings

Adam's passion for instruments goes beyond building and repair work. As a working musician, who plays banjo, mandolin and guitar, he understands what a musician ultimately wants to get out of their instrument. After studying with Bob Jones in Brooklyn NY, one of the most respected and talented luthiers in the country, Adam began to take on his own clients and start Circle Strings.

For over two years he was head repairman at Retrofret in Brooklyn NY. Working with them gave him the opportunity to repair and restore some of the world's most valuable and rare instruments. It was there that he built some of his first guitars while having all of the vintage pieces, broken and playable, that he was able to study from. He worked on everything from a soprano ukulele to an Ernie Ball Earthwood bass. Following this, he was offered a position to teach building and repair at Vermont Instruments.
