Collings Clarence White 18, Mahogany & Adirondack Spruce - Pre-Owned

A truly special instrument, the Collings Clarence White 18 was only made between 1989 and 2000, and mostly with a Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. This model, however, is even more unique due to its Adirondack Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides. Fewer than 25 Mahogany models were made, making this an exceptionally rare and special Collings guitar.

The combination of Adirondack Spruce and Mahogany, paired with its enlarged soundhole and pre-war scalloped x-bracing (with no tongue brace), make this Collings a bluegrass powerhouse. With plenty of headroom and projection, this dreadnought can stand its ground when it comes to aggressive playing, and never sacrifices tone. These features, alongside its 1 23/32” nut width, 2 1/4” saddle spacing, modified V Mahogany neck, and Ebony bridge and fretboard, make this pre-owned Collings not only a faithful recreation of the legendary guitar made famous by Clarence White and Tony Rice, but also an ideal instrument for both flatpickers and collectors alike.
