Details

At 29 years old, this Collings D3 has come into its own, creating an amazing instrument that is truly satisfying to play and listen to. The Adirondack Spruce top has aged beautifully over time and the quarter-sawn Brazilian Rosewood back (A-grade in 1992, but no less than AAA-grade in 2021) has a nearly pin-straight grain pattern, which gives way to intricate and symmetrical arrow markings that run beside the Chevron backstrip. The classic combination produces a tone that is strong yet defined in the low end, perfectly pairing with intimate vocal arrangements, as well as rich, clear highs that can cut through even the loudest ensembles.

The 14”-26” compound radius, paired with its 1 3/4” nut width and Modified V Honduran Mahogany neck, gives this D3 effortless playability. Matched with its abalone rosette, black and white line purfling, and Ivoroid bound body and neck, this Collings D3 is an exceptional guitar that will win the hearts of players and collectors alike.
