Details
A study in light and dark, this unusual Collings short scale OM features a beautifully straight-grained German spruce top paired with light, ripply maple, which pops even more thanks to the ebony fingerboard and bridge and tortoise binding. The combination of maple and a shorter scale length bring out a power in the tone of the guitar that defines its sonic identity. With crisp, clear trebles and a punchy midrange, the power in the low end is noteworthy but certainly part of a balanced and full sound, with excellent projection.
The slinky playability of short scale is combined with a 1-11/16" nut width, making for a delightful strummer as well as fingerpicker. Collings' peerless craftsmanship and playability make it effortless to coax out crisp, clear and engaging tones from this unusual yet versatile OM.
