Details

Collings' SJ is their take on the small jumbo. Though similar in overall size to a dreadnought, the unique proportions and tighter waist result in a different sound chamber and tone. As Collings says, "Players looking for the bass and overall volume of a large guitar, but with lots of treble clarity and midrange crunch, often find just what they need in the curvaceous SJ." This pre-owned Indian rosewood model is a fine example, with an overall balanced voice that has a strong midrange and treble pop, and excellent, clean sustain. An upgraded top of German spruce no doubt gets some of the credit for this guitar's sweet yet powerful tone. Aside from some light finish swirling on the back and wear on the pickguard, this guitar is in excellent condition.
