Renowned UK based luthier Dave King is well loved amongst players and collectors alike for building exquisite small bodied acoustics out of his workshop in Berkshire, as well as a storied history in high level repairs and restorations.
The Classic Model sits somewhere between Dave's Parlour and 000 sizes and presents a an inspired middle ground between the key characteristics of each, with this particular instrument sporting a set of beautiful Brazilian Rosewood for the back and sides with a lovely tight-grained Engelmann Spruce for the top.
The size of the guitar helps capture a very focused and detailed tone, with the immediate and lively response making for an engaging playing experience for both flat picking and finger style players alike. The Brazilian lends that wonderful chime and cascading overtones whilst the construction helps maintain a strong and present midrange with plenty of kick in the lows.
In regards to playability, the guitar is silky and smooth with a fantastic, low action and stellar intonation all the way through. Even at the upper registers, the guitar projects each note with great clarity and body, ultimately sensitive to the nuances of your playing and ready to find its place in any mix.
