First produced in 1954, The Fender Stratocaster is one of the most revolutionary guitar designs of all time. This 50th anniversary 1954 Stratocaster was built in the fender custom shop by legendary master builder C.W. Fleming, and is a faithful reproduction based on some of the first Strats to come off the assembly line in early ‘54. Like the original, the guitar has a beautiful two-tone sunburst over an ash body, and a chunky maple neck.
This guitar has the feel of a true vintage guitar, with very tasteful finish checking, as well as a very light relic on the fingerboard. It feels comfortable and played in, but without the severe faux-aging on some relic guitars. The pickups are low-output single coils, and capture the clear, bell-like tones of the most highly sought-after Stratocasters of the ‘50s. The guitar plays wonderfully up and down the neck, and it sounds equally great played both at low and high volumes. This faithful reproduction comes in a period-correct brown case, which looks extremely accurate to vintage examples.
