The 1957 Stratocaster holds a hallowed place in the annals of guitar history—it's the year where most agree that everything "came together" for the Strat. The soft "V" neck profile is absolutely quintessential, the 2-tone burst alder body is light and resonant, and the original pickups absolutely scream. The only modifications to speak of are an incredibly pro refret with new nut (the original nut is included) and overspray on the back of the neck. Otherwise it's dead to rights original. This beauty came to us with not only its original tweed case, but also the original trem arm and ashtray bridge cover as well—a complete set. The original pickups are exceptionally well-matched output-wise; no spiky "thin" bridge sound here. The finish shows some honest playwear but this '57 was clearly well-loved and taken care of throughout its life. The neck is an incredibly comfortable soft "V" profile that measures at .9" at the 1st fret and .96" at the 12th. Neck is pencil marked "11-57" and the body is dated "12-57." This is a true collector's piece and if you're a fan of early Fender and don't have the '57 in your collection, you're looking at a once-in-a-lifetime instrument.
