Every once in a while you pick up a guitar, strum it, and it just "Has It" with capital letters. Whether it's some ancient voodoo in the wood or all the seasoning of a long life well-lived, some vintage guitars simply have "The Magic" and this '59 Strat is one of those instruments. Just from the eyeball test you can see that this Strat has lived an active life and clearly was played heavily throughout the years by its various owners but taken care of just as earnestly, with the scars—or lack of—to prove it. The finish wear is all honest play wear and the only changes made to this beauty are a 5-way switch and an absolutely tremendous refret—this '59 Strat plays like a brand new Custom Shop instrument. And the pickups are the absolute quintessential late-50s/early-60s warm/fat/spanky Strat sound, perfectly balanced output-wise between the neck and bridge and equal volume at every position—never spiky or thin. When people say a Strat sounds "buttery" this Strat is exactly what they're referring to. It's got the original trem arm and the original brown tolex case, making it an absolutely stellar collector's piece on top of being an already tremendous sounding and playing Strat. They really don't get better-- they may get cleaner, but they don't get better.
