Feast your eyes on one of the Real Ones: an all original 1958 Stratocaster. This beauty came to us with not only its original tweed case, but also the original trem arm and ashtray bridge cover as well—a complete set. The 3-tone burst still shows true with plenty of red left and at only 7lbs-5oz she rings like a bell unplugged. The original frets show the wear you'd expect of a 63 year old guitar, and while it could "benefit" from a modern refret, it's certainly playable as-is and that's a decision we'd leave up to its next lucky owner. The original pickups are exceptionally well matched output-wise-- no spiky "thin" bridge sound here. While it still has its original 3-way switch, you can finesse the "notch" positions and get truly stunning sounds from every angle. The finish shows honest playwear with buckle rash on the back showing proof that this wasn't kept in a closet most of its life. The neck is an incredibly comfortable soft "V" profile that measures at .87" at the 1st fret and .99" at the 12th, so there's a really nice taper. Neck is pencil marked "3-58", neck pickup cavity has the name "Carrie" in pencil, and the middle pickup cavity has "3-58" penciled in as well. This is a true collector's piece and if you're a fan of early Fender and don't have a '58 in your collection, this is as fine an example as you'll find.
