Details

The newest model in his lineup, Ryan Gerber's RL14.5 (which refers to the lower bout measurement) is a 00 sized guitar that is impressive for its lightning-fast responsiveness, punchy low end, and ringing high end. Sure to be a stellar guitar in any tonewood combination, the combination here of Swiss moon spruce and cocobolo is delectably rich, with sustain that goes on for days. Even better, this RL14.5 features a full French polish finish. Though more delicate than nitrocellulose lacquer, the trade off in tone and vibrational potential is worth it. A modest bevelled armrest adds even more comfort to an already delightfully playable smaller-bodied guitar.
