Gibson Custom Shop SJ-100 1941-Reissue Acoustic Guitar, Mahogany & Sitka Spruce - Pre-Owned
The original 1941 Gibson SJ-100 is one of the rarest flattops the company has ever made. Unlike the more widely known SJ-200, these guitars were made with mahogany back and sides rather than maple, and feature a diamond-shaped bridge instead of a mustache bridge. This reissue from 2010 is a very close facsimile of the original article, and contains the majority of its signature features.
This guitar is huge, and it’s tone definitely follows suit. There’s a reason country artists like Johnny Cash favored this body shape when it came to driving a band: its massive sound packs a serious punch, and takes very well to heavy strumming. The vintage sunburst on this model is gorgeous, and the Gibson script logo gives the guitar a very authentic vintage look. In excellent pre-owned condition.
