Details

Here is a prime example of a 1959 Gibson ES-355TD with gold hardware and PAF humbucking pickups. This 355 features a factory mono output as opposed to the Varitone circuit you see on most 345s nd 355s, making it more akin to a 335 and much more appealing to a modern player. Mother of pearl block inlays adorn the ebony neck, as does the diamond inlay on the headstock. This guitar has had one pickup rewound as well as a headstock repair (not a full break and the repair is 100% solid) but is otherwise original. 1959 is considered by many Gibson enthusiasts to be the quintessential year when it comes to their electric offerings because of the combination of the neck profiles, electronics, and especially the PAF humbuckers, which seemed to hit a sweet spot in '59 with sweetness, chime, and snarl in equal parts. This is a fine example from that magic year and deserves to be played and appreciated.
