Why not spread the cost?

Produced for only eight short years in the 1950’s before being discontinued, the Gibson J-185 remains as one of the rarest and most sought after Gibson guitars to date. Being a scaled down J-200 in its essence, the 2014 Gibson J-185 True Vintage authentically recreates the tone and visual appeal of these coveted guitars. The Red Spruce top and Flamed Maple back and sides, paired its smaller body size, creates a voice that has an enhanced balance and clarity in the bass and low mids in comparison to a J-45 or SJ. Its smaller nature should not be underestimated though. The J-185 True Vintage retains the same warm dry thump, power, thunderous low end, and directness that Gibsons are notoriously known for. Matched with its MOP Maltese cross bridge inlays, traditional bracing, and Ivoroid body and fret-over binding, this Gibson J-185 True Vintage is a rare offering that genuinely captures the look and feel of the small bodied J-185’s of the 1950’s.
