Details

When Gibson set out to create the Gibson Keb Mo’ Bluesmaster Custom, they weren’t just trying to create a signature guitar for the three-time Grammy Award winner, they were trying to capture the post-modern blues stylings that Keb Mo’s music encompasses, drawing heavily from early blues, r&b, jazz, and roots music. Early blues and Gibson’s L series guitars go hand in hand, so it was natural that Gibson used this body shape for Keb Mo’s signature guitar. The Adirondack Spruce top and Mahogany back, sides, and neck are met with a host of upgraded appointments, such as the L.R. Braggs Element Pickup, to create an instrument with immense tonal versatility and sweetness. Paired with its 12-fret neck-to-body joint, which positions the Rosewood bridge at the guitar’s sweet spot for optimum resonance, its Herringbone purfling, Rosewood fretboard, scalloped x-bracing, and Vintage Sunburst nitrocellulose finish, this Gibson Keb Mo’ Bluesmaster Custom not only pays tribute to the legendary blues musician, but also conjures the spirit, tone, and playability of Gibson’s acoustics from the late ’20s and early ’30s.
