Details
It seems to be every guitar maker’s goal to build a small-bodied instrument that has the fullness and presence of its louder brethren. To that end, there are plenty of great parlor guitars out there, and while many are punchy and loud, they typically lack body and depth. In crafting their parlor guitar, James and Luke Goodall made theirs a little bigger overall, really putting it somewhere between a 0 and 00. The increase in size pays dividends in sound, while still being pleasantly comfortable and travel-ready.
This RP14 combines a master-grade Adirondack spruce top with East Indian rosewood back and sides, for a rich, complex tone you rarely hear in such a small guitar. Hawaiian koa bindings and the abalone shell rosette are a lovely visual nod to the Goodall family's time in Hawaii. A better fireside guitar would be hard to find.
