Whether it's for their fine craftsmanship, exquisite tonewoods, or unique designs, Michael Greenfield's guitars always command attention, and this large-bodied G4 may well be the most commanding of them all. Though he doesn't call it as such, the massive 17" lower bout and 4-5/8" depth put the G4 in modified dreadnought territory. Ultimately, this guitar is designed for fingerstylists who want maximum power and presence.

African blackwood is in the rosewood genus, and among the densest and hardest woods available, and crafting it into musical instruments is no small feat. Highly prized and costly, it is sometimes described as being to Brazilian rosewood what Brazilian rosewood is to Indian. Rich in overtones, with a glassy high end and dark, resonant bass, it's like the uber-BRW. Paired with moon-harvested Alpine spruce, this G4 has a complex, character-rich voice, with incredible sustain and clear articulation. Michael also says of this model:

"Another direction for this versatile instrument: if strung with .014” - .064”, the G4 can also fill in the gap between conventional and baritone guitars (C to C). This guitar is a powerhouse!"

Additional features on this guitar include the Laskin-inspired arm and rib rests, a Florentine cutaway, an intuitive fan-fret multi-scale design, and the beautiful spalted beech rosette. Though pre-owned, it is in excellent condition. It comes with a notebook with handwritten specs from Michael Greenfield, in a Mainstage case with paint spatter design.
