Heiden F-5 Mandolin, Maple & Spruce - Pre-Owned

In the world of fine mandolins, Michael Heiden’s name rests among the best builders in the scene. He has accomplished something truly remarkable in that his instruments not only encapsulate the tradition, but also feel and sound distinct, so much so that his tonal characteristics are now being emulated by other builders. That “Heiden sound” could be described as being powerful yet sensitive, like a “Hoss” that has been groomed for a show day. This classic F-5 has been cared for tenderly for its 18 year lifespan, but its wide open sound would suggest that it was played often. A few small dings give it some character, but otherwise it is in excellent shape and it is set up like a dream. Michael's instruments don’t come along every day, and it only takes a few notes to understand why Heiden owners hold on to theirs.
