Friends Jeff Huss and Mark Dalton have been building traditional-inspired steel-string guitars together in the Shenandoah Valley region of Virginia since 1995. Once at a bluegrass jam, Jeff found a small supply of Filipino "Meranti" mahogany, and has been searching for more ever since. This was the last guitar that the pair made from that stash, and it's a sight to behold. Incredibly light and nearly as tightly figured as tiger maple, it's a unique spin on that rumbling, woody D-18 sound. An L.R. Baggs Dual Source pickup comes installed. The overall condition is excellent, though you can see it was well and frequently played by the pick marks above the soundhole and below the pickguard (not too noticeable unless you're looking at the right angle). There's a little wear in the frets, but they have plenty of life left.
