Details

Laurie Williams has spent the last 25 years distinguishing himself in the world of boutique builders by focusing on indigenous woods, often felling trees, recovering logs from rivers, or reclaiming timber from old constructions himself. Combining Brazilian rosewood from Kevin Ryan and unique "paraoanui sinker" wood from his native New Zealand, Laurie has crafted a gorgeous, truly one-of-a-kind guitar with this 20th Anniversary Tui model. Designed for the virtuosic fingerstyle player (though no slouch for sensitive flatpicking, as Carl demonstrates), the Tui model will be comfortable for players used to the mid-sized curve of an OM or 0000. It delivers up incredibly rich and resonant low end, sparkling trebles that shimmer on hammer-ons and pull-offs, and the precise clarity you need for nuanced, complex arrangements. As if that wouldn't have been enough, though, Laurie has added a host of features, like the beveled arm and rib rests and a graceful Venetian cutaway, and possibly the most delicate paua inlay work we've ever seen, from purfling and rosette to the bridge and tuner buttons. A feast for the eyes and ears, alike.

Condition is excellent to near mint, with no issues to note. It comes with an L.R. Baggs Lyric pickup recently installed.
