This gorgeous F-50c in Master Grade African Blackwood and Master Grade Alpine Spruce was built by Lowden Guitars in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland in 2012 and is in sublime condition.
Made out of the highest grade and rarest woods in George's collection, the 50 series represents the cream of the crop from the Lowden workshop, with this particular instrument a fine example of this ideal.
The back and sides, as well as the top are all Master Grade woods, in this case an exceptional set of African Blackwood for the back and sides paired with a beautifully grained Alpine Spruce top. Sonically this manifests in a shimmering array of harmonically laden trebles and punchy midrange, coupled with a firm low end easily accessible with the guitars touch-sensitive response.
The neck sports the GL Standard profile, with a very slim and comfortable carve all the way through, providing a versatile platform for both finger style-playing amongst a whole host of flatpicking styles with wonderful articulation and crystal clear note definition.
The guitar comes in it's original Lowden Branded Hardcase.
